Park History
This park was acquired in 1983. Foothills signed a Joint Use Agreement with R-1 Schools in 1983 to allow Foothills to develop a portion of the school site north of Raccoon Creek. When Governor’s Ranch Elementary was built a few years later, R-1 reimbursed Foothills for park and athletic field development on the school parcel. Foothills completed the park development south of the creek in 1986. The park is named after former Governor James Grant who owned the property until the mid 1960’s.
