Human Resources Specialist-HR Development (Employee Development Specialist)

Responsible for scheduling and implementing local training and ensuring that all employees receive their required training, as well as career enhancement training. Works with institution department heads to assure adequate training plans exist to train probationary staff, as well as seasoned employees, and assists as necessary in the instruction of trainees enrolled in institution training courses. Work closely with the Training Coaches and Certified Instructors in preparation for local trainings by assisting in developing teaching concepts and techniques, as well as the use and maintenance of all classroom equipment. Assists in managing the institution's career development program and Staff Mentoring Program. Responsible for tracking of mandatory training to ensure all staff are compliant and in line with the Mandatory Training Standards, as well as the American Correctional Association (ACA) Standards to ensure Accreditation is maintained. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis. To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements:
Education:
GS-07:
One full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement. GS-09:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. Graduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR
Experience:
GS-07 and GS-09:
One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and this is typically in or related to the work of the position. Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
GS-07 Experience evaluating training materials prepared by instructor, such as outlines, text, or handouts. Experience scheduling classes based on availability of classrooms, equipment, or instructors. Experience obtaining, organizing, or developing training procedure manuals guides or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials. GS-09 Experience designing, planning, organizing or directing orientation and training programs for employees. Experience presenting information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures. Experience in selecting and assigning instructors or vendors to conduct training. OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
GS-07 and GS-09:
Have a combination of education and experience. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
