Linux Systems Administrator
Job Description :
This Enterprise Business Services (EBS) position supports Space Systems Company(SSC) located at the Lockheed Martin Waterton facility in Littleton, CO. The primary support is to classified environments. This position provides UNIX/Linux/VMware system administration services including server installation, integration and configuration of the system, as well as the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs)
Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Unix/VMWare ESX operating systems and software applications
Configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Unix/VMware ESX operating system to meet ICD503 security requirements.
Deploy/relocate Linux/Unix workstations in desk/board office space
Perform periodic audits of system security settings
Create/manage Unix/Linux user accounts and security groups includes password maintenance
Perform periodic inventory of assigned IT assets and update IT asset management database
Diagnose and resolve hardware/software problems/issues
Restore/recover data using data backup/recovery software
Create scripts to automate system administration tasks
Provide support for Disaster Recovery planning, testing and execution
Work closely with program to outline new hardware/software requirements
This position may require the support of an on-call rotation schedule.
Basic Qualifications
UNIX and Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration experience
Experience using data backup and recovery software
UNIX and Linux Vulnerability Management experience (patching and hardening of systems) as required by ICD503
UNIX and Linux scripting experience i.e. Perl, Korn Shell, Bourne Shell
Experience with software application installations (COTS/FOSS)
Experience implementing and managing automated build processes (i.e. Kickstart, Ansible)
Technical troubleshooting experience, including desktop and workstation hardware and software
Ability to work independently on projects and be able to identify and address open tasks with little supervision
IT Customer support or service delivery experience
Ability to obtain a Computer Security
certification within the first 6 months of hire date
Possesses an DoD Top Secret Clearance, or has been active within the last 2 years with eligibility of acquiring an SCI
Desired skills
Knowledge and understanding of Network Information Services (NIS)
Knowledge and understanding of LDAP
Knowledge/understanding of SAN/NAS storage
Experience working in a teaming/collaborative environment
Knowledge/understanding of VMWare
Familiarity of Cloud technologies (OpenStack, AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure
Familiarity with Configuration Management Tools (Puppet, Chef, and Ansible)
Working knowledge of AIX, HPUX
Knowledge of Solaris 10 & 11 zones
Security hardening, audit logging and system configuration
Hardware and software vendor communication for maintenance/repair/upgrade
Backup infrastructure management (hardware, software, tape management, etc.)
