Inovant, LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs Sr. Database Administrators to be responsible for applying skills and knowledge in DBA with db2, NoSQL, and/or Oracle Database, to perform specified support functions. Support and resolve Database problems; to plan, execute and manage database server implementations and to ensure all security, quality and compliance requirements are met. Provide Level 2 support to Visa Production Open Systems databases. Monitor and tune production db servers. Backup, restore, administer, run scripts and control access on db servers. Develop scripts to automate tasks. Integrate database support with overall Visa Open systems operations. Provides steps for performance improvement. Respond to BMC Remedy tickets. Provide high level database management with recommendations regarding database management issues and planning, and use of data resources. Support may require 24x7 for all database servers on a rotating basis, with a willingness to work weekends when required.
Employer will accept Bachelors degree, or equivalent , in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems, or related technical field and 6 years of work experience in job offered or 6 years of work experience in a computer-related occupation. Education or experience must include:
1. Maintaining a Current knowledge of the Database technology industry and determining the impact of hardware and or software upgrades on new and existing database applications;
2. Performance Research and Development developing Standards for new technology and features launched on db2 9.7 like Optim and WLM;
3. Developing Strategic Plans and providing technical leadership across multiple multi-terabyte databases end to end;
4. Managing Production Databases in a company environment. Ensuring the recoverability of all production data for Operational and Business continuation needs. Providing Performance and tuning. Improving the Quality and reducing defects in all database environments;
5. Setup Single/Multi Partition UDB environments;
6. Providing Oncall Support on Rotation Basis;
7. Creation on Erwin Model for all the Projects;
8. Performance Monitoring and Solution;
9. Analyzing/resolving Business Problem On Database Side; and,
10. Monitor/Run Daily Load Activity;
Experience may be gained concurrently.
