Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Now Hiring

I have attached the resume of the prior Manager (Dickerson).
His skills were great, and his personality/leadership style was his hallmark.
We have a GM onsite who is low on prioritizing work/life balance and tends to make suggestions that have little or no connection to reality or practicality, and then expects them to happen.
Even though that's a skip-level manager to this role, it has an impact.
We need someone who can both handle that interference and make sure his or her team is not distracted by it.
There are others in the organization who will also offer advice that will need to be vetted against reality.
That part is not unique to 3D Systems! The team has a variety of experience (new grad to 20
years) and ambition (it's been 3 weeks since my last promotion; when's my next raise? - slight exaggeration, but a fun example of the perception of the latest generation to enter the workforce; and I like what I do and it suits me just fine when we may need those talents to expand into other areas).
The team is self-motivated with good initiative.
Overall, the team really wants mentoring and growth from their manager.
Our systems are poor and archaic, and the budget is tight (three RIFs in 2023).
The candidate needs to be creative with solutions and not expect perfection on day one.
Manager (Jason) will expect the person to take initiative and not need a lot of guidance.
He's a great guy but in a huge role and has been out about 10 weeks (2 different episodes) since Halloween 2023 due to his physical health.
Other questions:
Budgeting experience.
Any affirmative answer that includes capital as well as operating expenses will be helpful.
We just need to know how much they know.
How have you stepped into a role with an existing team in the past? What will you do same/differently in this situation? Answer we're looking for would be around learning the strengths of the current team and building upon it.
Those who clean house and bring in their own folks will not be a good fit.
There's always one or two on a team who don't gel with a new leader, but overall this is a good team and since we had layoffs throughout 2023, the dead wood is gone.
Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a background in medical devices, technical experience, and experience with direct reports which will align successfully in the organization.
