Directly responsible for the management and operations of areas within Patient Access along with indirect responsibility for non-reporting areas that perform Patient Access functions.
Other duties include assisting in the staffing, budgeting, planning, and development of policy and procedure for these areas.
Responsible for hiring, separation and corrective action of staff members.
Responsible for the delivery of operational, and financial leadership for areas within Patient Access so that all processes are completed accurately, timely, and in an efficient manner to ensure quality outcomes, while providing our customers a professional, and caring level of service.
Establish performance goals for all key metrics (e.
g.
, abandonment rate, secure rate, quality, productivity) with patient access leadership and in line with organizational priorities.
Determine strategic plans for achieving goals/resolving issues with Director.
Hold supervisors and staff accountable to executing in the desired timelines established.
Implement and monitor processes to ensure success of agreed upon strategic plans.
Establish and lead regular staff meetings to discuss key metrics, barriers, opportunity areas, and develop action plans.
Use reports/metrics regularly to quantify opportunities, progress, and performance Take action to investigate and implement all identified metric opportunities.
Communicate results to team and leadership on a regular basis.
Focus priorities based on quantified opportunities.
Consider metrics affecting financial results, metric risks, and/or customer service.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, organizational, and payer requirements when monitoring and establishing unit process and procedures.
Manages area of responsibilities in a fashion which is consistent with Risk Management, Quality Improvement, JCAHO, OSHA Safety and Infection Control and other regulatory, statutory or accrediting standards.
Maintains up to date, optimum departmental standards of quality, consistent with departmental policies/procedures and/or quality measures.
Effectively engages in and leads problem solving sessions to resolve problems expediently and thoroughly.
Takes corrective action when necessary in an appropriate fashion, including proper documentation, consideration of facts/circumstances and timely, adequate follow-up.
Participates in recruitment/retention efforts, selecting qualified employees and striving to retain them, when possible.
Orients and provides training for employees; clarifies expectations; completes performance appraisal and other personnel actions in a timely, appropriate basis.
Identifies risk vs.
benefits of resource usage.
Seeks and identifies areas of cost-containment.
Participates in producing a business plan and/or objectives for area of responsibility.
Takes responsibility for the interpretation of financial reports and provides explanations and/or action plans for variances.
Acts as liaison with physicians, patients, ancillary departments, nursing staff, finance and all other hospital departments, insurance companies, government regulatory agencies and outside entities when problem occurs, problem solves and corrects all day to day operational problems and reports such problems to management.

What You Bring/Job Requirements:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Minimum 5 years experience in a hospital patient access environment.
Experience with hospital patient registration, inpatients, outpatients, emergency department patients, and experience with patient scheduling Minimum 3 years leadership experience in a heathcare setting is preferred.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare revenue cycle team.
Knowledge of regulations and requirements as they relate to Patient Access functionality HS/GED required Physical Requrements-Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally) Your Connected Community:
