00/yrPosition Introduction/Key DutiesCimarron is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer to support the Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program in Littleton, CO.
For over 60 years, the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team has supported the Navy's mission to provide an affordable and credible strategic defense.
The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence.
This position supports a 4 X 10 work schedule (i.
e.
3 day weekend) and is a hybrid role that will allow for some remote work (i.
e.
work from home a few days a week)!Key Duties:
Provide technical support to the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Life Extension 2 (LE2) Flight Sciences Team.
Work in a small, exciting team to define, analyze, and implement design changes to the FBM missile.
Study exo-atmospheric plume modeling and rarefied flow-field gas dynamics.
Update and improve existing system models for vehicle dynamics.
Support other Aero and Fluid analysis work performed by the LE2 team that may include subsonic to hypersonic aerodynamics and hydrodynamics analysis.
Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and EducationRequired Skills, Experience, and Education:

Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
Active Top Secret Clearance.
5 or more years of relevant experience.
Experience with modeling, simulation, and analysis of flow field gas dynamics.
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
Experience with Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) modeling and resources such as NASA DAC.
Experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis of flow field gas dynamics in particular plume and rarefied flow gas dynamics.
Knowledge of the physics of rarefied gases.
Hypersonic Aero/Thermal experience.
Experience with CFD Meshing (Fluent, GASP, Cart3D, CBAERO, Star-CCM+) and CFD post-processing.
Data visualization and analysis software such as Tecplot or Paraview.
Software development/programming experience (Python, Matlab, C, Fortran, etc).
Experience with integrated system-level modeling and simulation.
Experience with Linux.
MS Office experience.
Master's degree in Physics, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
