00/yrPosition Introduction/Key DutiesCimarron is seeking a Nuclear Hardness & Survivability Engineer to support the Fleet Ballistic Missile program in Littleton, Colorado.
For over 60 years, the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team has supported the Navy's mission to provide affordable and credible strategic defense.
The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence.
Key Duties:
Apply electrical, electronics, and physics philosophies in executing various tasks related to the Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH&S) Engineering discipline, including technical engineering related to radiation effects on missiles, with a focus on strategic systems.
Ensure that missile design, from the component level to the system level, will meet performance requirements during and after exposure to specified environments, including natural space radiation.
Be the responsible NH&S Subject Matter Expert on various programs within the customer's space facilities across the country.
Perform technical planning and documentation.
Derive specification requirements.
Perform modeling and analysis.
Implement and plan tests.
Develop weekly activity reports Lead the Survivability Working Group.
Support anomaly resolution teams.
Perform requirements verification/validation to support overall system hardness against radiation threats.
Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and EducationRequired Skills, Experience, and Education:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
5 or more years of experience.
Experience in two or more of the following:
Experience in Man-made Nuclear, Natural Space Radiation environments, and/or Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH&S) engineering discipline/work.
Electrical engineering simulation tools (e.
g.
SPICE, etc.
) and/or software tools for performing electrical engineering and mathematical analyses (e.
g.
, MATLAB, etc.
).
Test laboratory environments and associated test disciplines and test equipment (e.
g.
, data systems, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and/or signal generators).
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience/combined education.
DesiredSkills, Experience, and Education:
Active Top Secret Clearance.
Experience with radiation software tools (e.
g.
, NOVICE, Srim/Trim, Novice/Geant4, Creme96, Crememc, Shieldose, Spenvis, Omere, Ap8/Ap8, and Ap9/Ae9).
Experience working in radiation test facilities e.
g.
, test labs at the University of California at Davis, Texas A&M, Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF), Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) .
Experience with electronic, electrical, electromechanical, and (EEEE) components.
Experience with piece-part radiation testing and radiation effects on piece-parts performance and reliability.
Knowledge of electromagnetic environments and philosophies.
Ability to lead multi-functional teams, develop meaningful relationships with team members, and develop consensus among peers.
Enthusiastic learner and willing to be an apprentice to senior experienced professionals in the NH&S discipline.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
Organized and able to effectively multi-task to accomplish this exhilarating job.
