7700 South Broadway Littleton, Colorado 80122 ? The role you'll contribute:
Operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment, compressors, generators, and steam boilers, to provide for utilities such as light, heat and power for refrigeration, air conditioning, and other services for the hospital.
Other responsibilities include those of general maintenance (e.
g.
, electrical, plumbing, equipment maintenance and safety testing).
Will provide excellent customer services when working with patients, visitors, and other staff members.
Works under minimal supervision and mentors/coaches less experienced facilities staff.
The value you'll bring to the team:
Regularly starts stops and adjusts or regulates equipment as necessary to properly condition the facility.
Observes meters and gauges, manipulates valves and machinery to keep readings within the specified requirements.
Demonstrates the ability to maintain, operate, and change parameters and messages on the HVAC computer system to maintain proper comfort conditions.
Performs preventive maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment by using established departmental procedures assuring minimized equipment failure.
Determines time and materials for new equipment installation and remodels.
Reads and interprets blueprints for installation of new equipment and repairs of existing equipment.
Performs routine maintenance, lubrication, cleaning of boilers and central plant equipment daily.
Accurately computes heat loads and cooling requirements for projects.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Required:
High School diploma or GED Two years minimum experience in maintenance, operation, and repair of building mechanical systems; including but not limited to boilers, liquid chillers, pumps, fans and air handling units, heat exchangers, and ancillary equipment.
Knowledge with medical gas systems including medical air pumps, medical vacuum pumps, bulk oxygen, nitrous oxide and nitrogen and backup systems.
Strong communication skills, ability to read, write and speak English Basic computer skills.
City and County of Denver Stationary Engineer Certificate Required for Porter Hospital, preferred for all other facilities.
Valid state driver's license Preferred:
Knowledge with Building Automation Systems and Computerized Maintenance Management systems hospital facilities OR healthcare construction experience.
Technical degree/certificate in a facilities related field.
Stationary Engineer, Boiler Operator Class A & B, CFC and/or Journeyman certification.
