Registered Nurse (RN) - FT Nights
Job Description:
The RN, reporting to the Director of Nursing, will provide care for up to 7 patients as they progress through the medical detoxification process.
The RN will collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers and other health care professionals to plan and deliver care using a multidisciplinary patient-centered approach.
Responsibilities:
The RN has the following responsibilities and duties:
Render and supervise care of Gallus Medical Detox patients.
Determine and implement specific detox protocols as designated by the physician.
Participate in the evaluation of patient's condition and progress with other team members.
Observe and assess patients for clinical signs and symptoms following prescribed course of treatment.
Implement nursing care and prescribed medical interventions based on observed clinical signs and symptoms.
Record and report all pertinent information related to a patient's mental and physical condition, and effects of treatment.
Assign duties and supervise treatment by clinical technician staff.
Reports to Nursing Director all emergency, medical, and disciplinary situations that require administrative intervention including incident reports.
Participate in Quality Management / Performance Improvement committees as assigned.
Participate in staff meetings, in-service education, and behavioral health training to stay current with new trends in detox methods.
Maintain all required licenses and competencies.
Maintain confidential patient records.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
Direct workflow of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel.
Requirements:
The Registered Nurse should have the following skills, education and
Experience:
Hold a current RN license in good standing, in the state the clinic operates in or an approved compact or multi-state license Current CPR and ACLS certification through AHA, ASHI, or an online course with in person skills check off Minimum of 1-year full-time work experience in ICU/CCU, step-down / telemetry or Emergency Department setting Knowledge of detoxification regimens in substance abuse Institutional knowledge of and background in behavioral health, specifically substance abuse, preferred but not required Have, or acquire within 6 months of hiring, knowledge of basic crisis intervention techniques, de-escalation methods and defusing techniques to prevent violent patient behavior that is harmful to self or others Proficient with medical record documentation, able to document relevant information about patients' activities Good physical and mental health and professional conduct Excellent customer service Compensation - $47-50/hr plus $5/hr.
