The automotive parts counter person is responsible for customer service and retail sales at the store.
In this position, your responsibilities include selling parts, taking stock inventory in storage, and, if necessary, on shelves.
The Parts associate gives a positive impression to every customer regarding their overall parts experience at the store.

You have prior-automotive experience You are a team player and are able to work independently when required You have exceptional communication, organization, and follow-up skills You can work with technology, such as computers, tablets, and telephones You can work in a fast-paced environment You have a strong sense of urgency Able to work every other Saturday
Essential Functions:
Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is aware of the entire product line.
Pull purchased parts from stock.
If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit a particular order if the customer requests.
Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
Verify ''will call'' and ''back-order'' files weekly, return them to vendors, or stock items that are not required.
Assist Service Technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in the process.
Order parts not in stock after speaking with a service advisor.
Issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
When doing business with returning cash customers, ensure that their cash account'' numbers are input to ensure proper customer tracking.
With a declined purchase, notify the credit department.
If unavailable, either decline to charge the purchase or release the credit hold following the dealership's guidelines.
Keep front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
Participate with the Parts Manager in maintaining a Lost Sale Tracking program.
