Sr. Category Manager - MRO

Opportunity Overview Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Sr. Category Manager - MRO for Maintenance, Repair, and Operating (MRO) equipment in the Global Procurement and Logistics department. This is a key position within the organization which will focus on developing and implementing company-wide category management, spend controls, supplier performance management, accurate MRO master data and monitoring programs that deliver sustainable results. This position is a key leader and contributor to driving best-in-class procurement capabilities throughout the company, reporting directly to the Sr. Global Category Manager of Capex and MRO. This position has two direct reports and is in our Technical Center in Littleton, CO. Applicants can expect to make between $95,000 to $130,000 upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for a target incentive bonus under our variable incentive plan. This position is based out of Denver, CO or Littleton, CO but we do have a flexible work arrangement which, by way of example, an employee's work week may include both some days at the employee's assigned company work location and some work days performed remotely from the employee's home. The schedule of remote work will be based on business and work needs as determined by management. Your Day-To-Day:
Consolidate, Leverage and Negotiate $80-100M of Global MRO, Services, and other expense supplies Develop and implement sourcing strategies for MRO materials that may include; consumables (such as cleaning, laboratory, or office supplies), industrial equipment (such as compressors, pumps, valves), plant waste hauling and recycling, plant upkeep supplies (such as gaskets, lubricants, repair tools), safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure alignment to Capex Sourcing Strategy Negotiate National/Global Contracts for pricing which will reduce the spend in assigned categories for all participating plants for highest percentage of commonly used items and/or services across all JM plants Implement plant control services for vending solutions, assessing outsourcing opportunities, calibration services and waste management providers Develop monthly scorecards for MRO across all JM businesses Monitor metrics to identify areas of non-compliance and take corrective actions where necessary Identify improvement areas and implement programs to achieve goals Conduct supplier evaluations and develop alternate sourcing strategies to ensure the highest quality at the lowest cost Working with cross functional team, establishes vendor qualification strategy and supplier relationship development programs Responsible for recommending and making decisions on who is solicited and awarded contracts, communicates outcomes to Director Level and below to plant contacts Has dotted line reporting responsibility from all designated Plant Buyers throughout NA, which accounts for over 50 individuals throughout JM plants, visiting all plants to implement MRO contracts and services as requested, communicating policy and working with Europe and Asia associates to translate best practices in assigned categories Responsible for implementing and leading regional buyer councils Develop and implement 5% annual cost reduction projects, establishes and maintains monthly updates to senior leadership Participate in Berkshire Hathaway wide Leveraging Spend council, leading projects and/or facilitating Manufacturing council on occasions Responsible for establishing policy for SAP controls, including inventory cycle counting, inactivating parts, setting critical spares guidelines and working to sell obsolete MRO items through external brokers Manages Material Master, Online Catalogs, SAP agreements, Purchasing Information Records, Source Lists, Outline agreements Develops forecasting trends and analysis for MRO items under their responsibility Ensure working capital levels meet or exceed corporate objectives Responsible for management and development of two full time employees What You Bring to The Team:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or technical field with 7
years' work experience in supply chain management or related business experience 2
years MRO experience Management experience Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills History of building collaborative relationships Working knowledge of contract development Strong negotiation skills Ability to perform financial analysis Working knowledge of ERISA, OSHA and environmental regulations Working knowledge of an ERP system (SAP preferred) Strong leadership skills Additional Consideration Given For:

Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
